I'm not sure I even know what a shoe brush is! Until now, that is. I just kinda dust mine with my socks before I put them on. Does that count?

I had a missionary companion who spit on his shoes, then used his sock. He actually had pretty good aim considering how tall he was. I think you're wise to stick with the dry shine.
